A very happy new year to all my readers. I know it’s a bit
too late to for New Year wishes. But I have been away from my blog and my
computer since Diwali. I had a minor problem with my lower back and was advised
complete rest . So I was not able to post any new recipes to the blog. The good
news is that I am fine now and back with lots of recipes.
Since I am back after a long break and feeling elated I
decided to start my comeback with a sweet dish. What is better than laddoo to
start anew? This is the recipe of til laddoo. I was in Goa in my in-laws place for
Sankranti and I helped my mom-in-law prepare this. It’s very simple and we
actually prepared it in just under an hour.
Til Laddoos are often prepared for Sankranti .Eating and
distributing dishes made with Til is believed to wash away sins .
Ingredients:
Til – 500
gms
Groundnuts –
250 gms
Jaggery – 1
cup
Method
1.
In a pan , lightly fry the til for about 5 to 6 minutes.
2.
Fry the groundnuts and remove the peel and cut
them into half.
3.
In another pan melt the jaggery till it forms
thin strings and then take it off the stove.
4.
To this add the til and groundnuts.
5.
Apply little ghee to our palms and take small
portions of the mixture.
6.
Make lemon sized balls.
Til laddoos are ready .
